schlage sense

I've had a Schlage Sense lock for several years. Its only radio is Bluetooth (BLE), so initially, without a hub, I could only operate while my iPhone was within Bluetooth range. There is always a long delay to operate on arrival, as it takes time for the lock to re-connect via Bluetooth...

Contemplating my start with HomeKit and a Schlage Sense smart lock. I have 3 exterior doors on my house. If I want to automate the securing of my perimeter, it seems I would need 3 of these lock sets - expensive & overkill? I have not implemented an alarm system yet so that is not yet an option...

Has anyone had any issues with the schlage sense saying the lock is unreachable? It works fine via siri (known that it doesnt work in the Home.app)
