And this way your girlfriend discovered you watching porn? :D:D:D

I guess it could happen to some. Mine is a picture of my bank viewed from safari.

I used ifunbox and looked at apps and i can see the cached snapshots.

Unfortunatley you cant view the snapshots for safari because they are in the private folder. YOu have to JB to view those.

Its always the same picture what is soooo strange. And the only way i can make it come up now is when i put the phone upside down and do the app switcher. Doesnt work all the time but it does come up occasionally. It never comes up when in landscape left or right or in portrait with home button on bottom.

I just reset all settings. SOme on apple forum says it wont stop caching the pictures but it will reset the cache and start fresh . I will see.

did the reset and still persists and i can do it everytime now.

It all has to do with orientation.

When I started looking into it I could duplicate it in landscape but after following the directions I could reset the cached snapshot image.

If the phone is in portrait view after landscape it keeps displaying this same snapshot. i

to duplicate this. Open safari. then close it by hitting home button. double click home and look at the image in the multitask/Appswitcher mode. Close out by hitting home button.

Turn phone in landscape and repeat steps above.

Next rotate phone back to portrait view, and hit home button twice to activate multitask/appswitcher mode. There you will have a completely different snapshot saved for safari. Mine is my banking info.

So here is the deal. If i hit home again from there. Next time safari is opened regardless of orientation it will flash that image for a second or two and then go to the last safari page. This only happens if I go from landscape to portrait. Weird indeed.

You can do this in Chrome too and see for yourself, i have no idea when it captures the snapshot but on my safari it aint changing its stuck.

Does anyone else see this?

Yeah, happens on my iPhone 5. This is a bug in iOS8, but I think it was also present in iOS7 and never got fixed.

Makes us look bad when it fires up a pr0n webpage in the bus, doesn't it? :D

Ha-Ha! I have a separate older iPad for that. ;) But it's actually a UPS tracking page that still just flashes up for a split second - just once in a while. Bizarre.

Yeah safari in iOS 8 has been a bit weird for me too. I think they need to sort out their logic of when and how to use screenshots for speed and animation purposes. Because something ain't right.

It all has to do with orientation.

Yes, a screen shot is saved for each orientation, which is why it can flash a very old screen if you open from a seldom-used orientation. I do find this to be a very surprising issue for a company that cares about both form and function.

To clear it all out, close all tabs and exit from each of the four orientations. I prefer a clean start without a bunch of stale tabs or screen shots, so I am generally in the habit of closing tabs before exiting anyway.

Hm. I don't know that I've noticed it on Safari, but it happens quite regularly for me with my Kindle App.

If I have read one book, switch to another, leave the app and go do other stuff, when I go back to the Kindle app I just very briefly see the image of the book I was reading before.

I always just assumed it was something in the image cache. It's never cause me any problems.

My fix - its long, i know

The issue seemed to be that when u first flip the phone in to landscape, it took a cached image of the website. so when ever you were on a website then you flip the phone, and then u exited the app while in landscape then came back the first cache webpage appears again. this was a very big problem for me because my cached webpage rhymed with corn and involved multiple women.

The fix, find an app that clears or deletes your system cache
i used an app called Battery Doctor https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/battery-doctor-must-have-battery/id615987910?mt=8
it has a feature that cleared the junk and memory boost. (Im not promoting anything) after that i got on safari opened a non compromising web page opened a video went into land scape, and exited closed safari with that tab still open. went back and tried different webpage and the new screenshot is now safe from embarrassment. i havent had that problem since.

so problem = safari cache from changing to landscape
solution = clearing system cache thru app cuz the safari settings did not work
then choosing a good webpage to cache in landscape

please share with others on other threads, my days of fear are over

Guys, what a really nice review from you all. I have a question regarding the same issues. Once i had the old picture (fraction) come up, lets say its a porn fraction. Would it be possible that it was actually the picture or website (fraction) that i opened on 2-3 months ago? if no, then this issue only happened to those website that have being open during the last 2-3 days? or at least not more than a week? or how is it actually? PLease guys. help me, bit frustating here.

Thank you so much b4.

Safari shows a long closed page for a second before loading actual pages

So I had a page open last night and a few minutes ago when I opened safari it flickered that page for a few seconds before reloading into the existing pages. This has happened a lot since iOS 8. I am on iPhone 6 plus. It only occurs for a second but how could it open a page for second from yesterday evening when I have closed and opened at least 15-20 tabs since yesterday night .

Does this Happen to anyone else
This happens to me a lot also. But with just one website it's the same website that reappears long after I closed it down and searched many others since closing. I don't believe these people who say ahh don't worry about it, it's just a photograph. Especially when our machines are used against us by our gov and computer thugs who can't respect others.

Unlock the phone, tap on Safari, a web page that I was looking at in the past and closed shows up for a second and disappears, and then the websites that I left open before then show up.

Does anyone else see this? Think I've seen it on my Touch and Pad too.

found the cure at this thread..So Weird once i went to landscape and did the app switcher there was the picture so weird. .https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5413121?start=75&tstart=0

Close all apps besides safari, then open Safari and close all tabs so the browser just shows a blank page. Exit out by clicking the home button once. Then double click home to show your open apps, which should just be safari; the preview image should show a blank safari page, and if you click on the window with the safari app you should enter the browser and see no old web page flash, just the blank page. Exit by clicking home once, rotate the ipad 90 degrees, then repeat the exact same process- click home twice to bring up a preview window and then enter safari to see if it is the blank page or if safari is using an old cached image. If any orientation has an old page pop up, make sure to enter safari in that orientation and clear out the page. Once you have done this in all 4 orientations you should be fine. What a pain, right? And you have to do this whenever you want to clear out old safari images. It has worked for several weeks for me with the problem recurring, curious to know if this trick works for others as well. But seriously apple needs to just fix it on their end to avoid this hassle.
[doublepost=1460820030][/doublepost]I am not a great app person. When you stated Safari blank page, would this be the same as my screen that show icons of my bookmarks I have? I never could get to a blank page. Sorry about the dumb question.

This is still happening, and it's odd that this is a fairly large and obvious bug that has persisted for nearly three years. iOS is pretty secure and has grown a lot, but at the expense of stability and simplicity.

When iCloud debuted, it was simple, but easy to use and the free 4 or 5 gigs of data was fine for three Apple devices (Mac, iPad, iPhone). Now, my iPhone backup alone is too large for the free tier, thanks to iBooks and Health app.

It's the system photograph that is created when you close an app but it's still able to run in the background. This image is used and fades to the real image throughout the animation but there isn't suppose to be much of a difference. Some images don't get updated as often which can cause seeing an old web page to pop-up suddenly but its just a screenshot.
I'm confused. Porn hub flashed on mine then disappeared. But I've never been on it and no one else uses my iPad. Any thoughts?

It honestly feels like Apple are desperately trying to snitch on people sometimes, a friend sent me a pic he had been sent once of a topless female friend of his, I didn’t even ask for it so deleted straight away off my phone, then my wife picked up my iPad and it flashed up for like a split second, nearly ruined my marriage!

Yes! this happens all the time since upgrading to the new iphone 6 plus and ios8. It's rather aggravating, especially when you want to show someone something and it loads up an old porn video!
I even clean out my history and website data.. anyone know if there is a way to clear out the web cache is there is a such thing?
(And yeah I watch porn, not all the time though... I have an amazing girlfriend too, she just needs to heal every once in a while you know)
Exactly the same thing happening to me... ugh!
