My trusty AirPort Extreme 802.11n, that I use as our main internet wireless router, won’t last forever. So I’m looking for a replacement before it dies.

I have no need for a ”mesh router” system or even 802.11ac speeds. But I do need a way to monitor the incoming and outgoing traffic on any replacement router via software like Peak Hour 4, which uses SNMP to access the network traffic counters.

So far I’ve found 2 Synology routers (MR2200ac and RT2600ac) that say they support SNMP. Does anyone know if they work with Peak Hour 4?

And while we’re at it, how about a replacement for an AirPort Express 802.11n (range extender mode) that supports SNMP and an Airplay 2 connection to our HiFi .

Thanks In advance — GetRealBro

Thanks for the reply. The Synology RT2600ac certainly looks like my best bet.

FWIW I was hoping to confirm, prior to purchase, that the RT2600ac supports SNMP requests like…

snmpget -v 2c -c public MyRouter.local ifInOctets.2

where "MyRouter" is the SSID of the router.

Thanks again — GetRealBro
