Just few month ago we made the second billion. In few hours we will break into a new area with amazing 3'000'000'000 points in F@H.

Phantastic job done Team #3446; former and current members all together.

Next milestone: soon we can welcome our first Billionaire in the team !

Up, up in my studio, studio
I started folding after ChristianJapan announced the 2 billion milestone, and just reached 1 million points myself the other day. It's not that difficult if you have a spare machine or two, and expensive custom hardware is not necessary-- all my points were from regular CPU-based folding on stock Core 2 Duo/Core i3 machines.

I asked the MacRumors editors when they'd want to publish another news story about our team. The answer is that they want to wait for a future milestone.

Please let me know when we approach 5 billion, and we'll make some noise about it.

I've never really done folding@home before, but I was wondering what i'd be looking at if I had access to ~40 i7-4600 Processors for about 8 hours a day in terms of these points?

8 hours uninterrupted ? Those are mobile CPUs ?
Just a wild guess: 8k to 10k a day ? But I can be wrong. But times 40 is a good thing ;)

Woops, I noticed I put 4600, yep that's a mobile chip.. They are actually i7 4770's (non K).
So you think 10K*40=400000? I guess the points are not a big deal, but the only thing I'm concerned about is if there would be a large bandwidth spike with F@H.

Suggest to try with one or few systems ... Normally FAH software use idle capacity, as soon you need to COU for some thing else it cuts down its own usage (sure impacting the points).
how many core/hyper threading do the CPU have ?
