Apple Music issues with Catalina

After I updated my MBP 2016 to Catalina, I lost the ability to use the Touch Bar to control the Music unless the app is the active app in the foreground. Also, Music App does not automatically pause when you remove AirPods. Anyone experience this as well?

Oddly, after shutting completely down, booting in Windows using Bootcamp for a work application, then back to macOS fixed the issue. Odd.
