apple store card question

I purchased a Apple 4k tv as a gift for a friend. I was sent a 25.00 gift card vi email. Added this to my Wallet. My question is can I use this card in iTunes or the App Store or is this just for hardware purchases? TY

If the card is for the actual Apple Store, can you use the gift card to buy an App store card from the digital store? (i.e using the original gift card to buy another gift card) I've never done this, but I'd assume it's possible...
