Battery cycle count

It seems that the batteries like to exercise regularly in order to maintain a reasonably good health. Use it or loose it.

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn’t Apple replace your battery if they need up replacing your keyboard?

thats not normal. take your laptop to apple store and get it checked. can you please tell how many years have you been using it ? how many times a day you charge and discharge it ?

What tools are you guys using to calculate health? I'm using Battery Health 2. It's showing original mAh of 8755 on Mid 2015 MBP 15". Does that should right?
I think Battery Health 2 is not as accurate as it could be.
I ran "ioreg -l | grep Capacity" and did some simple math and got 308 cycles with 82% health. I then downloaded Coconut and it also gave me 82%.
Thats a bit better but not as good as I think the battery should be at 308 cycles.

If you run it down to 50%, then charge to 100%, that would be half a cycle.
The trick is that you don't use 1 complete cycle each day. that would mean 365 cycles in 1 year. i normally use 1 complete cycle in 2 to 3 days.
Wow, that's awesome! What do you do with your laptop? I almost never get to 400 cycles before battery drops below 80%. I do a lot of high drain things that seem to rush all of my batteries to a premature demise. I've got a 2016 15" MBP that's had a service battery warning since around 150 cycles. It's going in for a battery replacement this week (and not because of the keyboard).
Typing, videos, safari. Each day I discharge it to maybe 10% then plug in overnight. This is the 2017 MBr
I used my MacBook5,1 90% of the time with Windows XP(Bootcamp). I am guessing that you did not abuse your 2009 MBP by running Windows on it?
But yeah, Apple batteries are awesome, my MBP9,2 original battery(7 years old) has 1700 cycles and still has 85% health.
I wouldn't give Apple too much credit (or blame) for their batteries. I think you've either had exceptional luck with the longevity of your battery or you have an unusual usage profile that is helping to extend the life of any battery you get.
I've had plenty of Apple batteries and non-Apple batteries and none of mine have ever gotten me anything close to what you're getting.
I'll add that i also have a third 2009 MBP 13 that had a battery swell up and crack the trackpad on its own with light use but this happened 9 years after purchase. Also had a new 2011 MBP 15 that had a drastically failing battery literally weeks after the 1-year warranty expired. Apple wouldn't replace it for free. These days i buy apple care since i use macbooks on battery 90% of the time but the new stuff i bought refuses to fail or go under 80%

Do you keep it charged all the time or do you drain it every time or...?
I’m at 460 now with 85-87% fluctuations. I drain it during day and charge overnight.
