My MB is brand new...I bought it in july. It shows 23 cycles and according to Coconut the capacity is at 95-96%. A bit weird for a new PC ?!

Is it good? On a bright side I don't think it is going to swell anytime soon with that much charge capacity left.

My 7,1 had 37 cycles when the battery quit working. It says 100% but is at replace now and dies if not connected to the charger. I have tried resetting the SMC but it made no difference.

Bought mine open box certified in March and my cycle count is 6. It stays by the couch plugged in mostly.

I have this situation right now on my late 2008.
Suddenly the battery ran out.
In your opinion, is there a way to recover it?
I did all possible software reset.

Thanks.

It's a GREENCELL.

Your battery is obviously very cheap and I don't think there is anything you can do to recover it. It is crazy that your battery died just after one year and ~10 load cycles(you do need to exercise your battery more than that though). This is exactly the reason I avoided the cheap after market batteries. You could have gotten more life out of a s/h 10 years old original Apple battery.

Do you think this will return some of the battery capacity or is this to prevent the battery health from dropping further?

none
I know people have all these various things that they believe they must do to keep their batteries in great condition. I never bother. Sometimes my portable Macs stay on the power adaptor for weeks and sometimes they are left in a cupboard for a year with a flat battery. It seems to work for me.

85% after 5 years. I am happy with that.
