Holy cow, I haven't posted here in years! Anyway, onto the situation: I picked up a lightly used iPhone 8 a couple days ago to replace my iPhone 6. Everything is great, until I connect it to my car (2010 Volkswagen, but the head unit was updated to an OEM VW unit w/ Carplay). After a few tries it worked for about a minute (minus music...) but now it just refuses to connect altogether. It keeps saying "unable to make a connection, make sure your device is unlocked" even though it *is* unlocked.

For clarity:
* the iOS 13.2.3 update that I downloaded the night I bought the phone was stalled for awhile, but eventually completed overnight. Maybe something corrupted along the way?
* I'm using an OEM Apple USB cable to connect to the infotainment unit.
* Screen time is off, Carplay is enabled, Hey Siri is enabled, etc.
* I have tried doing a factory reset on both the infotainment unit and the phone itself. No dice.

Anyone else having issues? Do I have to sit around and wait until 13.2.4 is released to fix whatever is going on?
