Recently got new iMac and SuperDrive. While the SuperDrive recognizes CD’s and DVD disks, if there is any video (home made or movie industry produced) the disk will be rejected or not play the dvd or video. The app DVD player cannot play the movie or video. After 90 minutes with a helpful 2nd tier support person, he advised that Apple has concluded it is a Catalina bug and hopefully the next update will address it. Anybody experiencing the same problem?

YES! I have the same problem. After 2 1/2 hrs on the phone with a couple Apple techs, the best they could offer is to wait for the next OS upgrade. My issue is that with the superdrive attached to my iMac, it won't play the commercially recorded disc because it thinks the region is wrong, while it is set to 1 as it should be.
