Check spotlight indexing

Hi,
I recently got the new macbook pro and was wondering how to check if spotlight is still in the process of indexing. When I type index into spotlight / click on the spotlight icon, there doesn't appear to be any progress bar. I've used it < 2 days, so I doubt spotlight would be finished with the index.

after installing Catalina, i have noticed that Spotlight indexing works very quickly. so quickly that i also looked for ways i could be sure it indexed completely. i can confirm that although (on my machine (MacBook Air with 500GB disk) Spotlight Indexing completes in only about 5 or 10 minutes. prior to Catalina it might have taken 30 minutes or so. its completeness of index seems to me to better than previous OS.
