Chrome Favicons keep disappearing

I'm on imac2011 and the favicons not showing really bugs me — I seem to be a visual learner.

I logged into my iphone Chrome google account and synced the bookmarks from there, and when I came back to my iMac and clicked on Chrome, I watched the favicons stutter and go out as it 'synced'. Oh well, no more Chrome on my iPhone until google takes iOS and MacX more seriously and develops syncing that actually works properly between them.

Anyone else got issues with their Chrome favicons? Any fixes? I need to use a cross-platform browser that does ios, my old High Sierra imac, Windows 10, and in the future possibly Linux. Anyone got a fix, because right now I'm using Vivaldi and it's got its own bugs.
