I want to get the new 2019 MBP 16" and I expect to pay $2900-3300

I do lot of heavy editing on Lightroom, I want to get into making short 4k videos (<10 min) on Premiere with my Sony a7iii & DJI Drone; other than that I use my laptop for browsing, Netflix, microsoft word.

I'm considering
#1 --- 1TB + 2.3GHz 8 core i9 + 32 GB + AMD 5500M 4GB = $3200
#2 --- 512GB
+ 2.6GHz 6 core i7 + 32 GB + AMD 5500M 4GB = $2900

Is #1 overkill for what I'm doing? I'm not expecting to do any professional video production and am ok with 512 GB & external hard drives.

Specs
Which processor? 2.6GHz 6 Core i7 / 2.3GHz 8 core i9 / 2.4GHz i9
Which RAM/Memory? 16GB / 32GB / 64GB
Which Graphics card? AMD 5300M 4GB / AMD 5500M 4GB / AMD 5500M 8GB

You could save $ with either of the stock base models for the type of work you’re planning on doing.

I'm in the same boat with the LR editing etc. I'm going with #2, but still debating the GPU part. 5300 or 5500? I know LR doesn't rely heavily on GPU, but something in me wants to get 5500 to have some future-proofing built-in. Am I wasting money or??

I picked up a base model, but sprang for the 5500 M. It was only $100 more. Base 6-core machine is damn fast, and should have plenty of overhead for your purposes. 32GB RAM may be throwing away money. As for the SSD, maybe it's worth it if you can keep more of your work on the internal drive, versus swapping out external drives.
