Does APP “transparency mode” come through on both earbuds?

Hi, recently when I enable transparency mode I notice that the outside sounds come in much louder on the left side. Is that normal or could I have a defective APP? Could my right earbud have a defective mic?

Edit: I contacted Apple and they’re mailing out a replacement for the right earbud.

Yeah, it should be both earbuds.
