New client for Chrome browser (using NaCl, native client)

Introduction
We are happy to release a Folding App that works completely within the Chrome Browser (minimum version 31 on Windows, Linux and OSX). This Folding App is targeted towards casual donors who prefer to fold few hours a day. The WUs are specifically designed to take roughly an hour on an average system. This allows the Folding App to run on laptops, ultra-portable and even old systems. You can set-up the Folding App within seconds without any issue.

Currently the Folding App uses only the CPU. There isn't any support for GPU.

New client 7.4.4 released

This release adds a new and improved Web interface which is cleaner, hopefully more intuitive and displays your personal and team points.
FAHViewer can now display proteins from FahCore_17 (JSON Data).
In addition, there are a number of bug fixes and enhancements over the last public v7.3.6 release.

The solved viewer issue with Core 17 I find exciting (update: seems not via remote connection)

At https://www.reddit.com/r/foldingathome, we’ve created a subreddit dedicated to improving the bi-directional flow of communication between Folding@home donors, researchers, and developers. Although the official community-driven technical support forum is over in foldingforum.org, that board’s phpbb format makes it challenging for researchers and developers to quickly see what feedback topics are the most popular at a given time. Reddit has several advantages in this regard; it’s easy to upvote topics that are on-topic and helpful, and comments-on-comments feature allows for subtopics to exist without completely derailing the top-level responses.

In short, it’s a better system for certain types of communication than the forum. Although technical support is in the Folding Forum, you can submit topics on the subreddit for general discussions on Folding@home.

Fighting cancer on Folding@home: FDA approved kinase inhibitors

You may have noticed a trend in the type of proteins being simulated on Folding@home recently. A number of Folding@home labs are collaborating in an attempt to understand the role of protein conformational heterogeneity (the diversity of structures a protein can readily adopt) in the binding of small molecule drugs that target kinases, proteins that are mutated in a variety of cancers. A number of targeted kinase inhibitors have already been approved by the FDA, and have been shown to significantly improve the lives of patients with breast cancer, as with HER2 inhibitors, chronic myelogenous leukemia, as with Abl inhibitors, and other cancers. We’ve put together an informational poster with the FDA approved small molecule kinase inhibitors. Almost half of these molecules target kinases running on Folding@home: Lapatinib and Afatinib target HER2 (projects 9104-9114); Imatinib, Dasatinib, Ponatinib, Nilotinib, and Bosutinib target Abl (project 10472); Gefitinib, Erlotinib, and Afatinib target EGFR (project 10473); and Dasatinib and Bosutinib also target Src kinase (project 10471). Stay tuned for more blog posts on our progress in this area.

Coming a bit closer to kick some cancer's butt much harder ...

Currently no WU for P9201 gets assigning running all Maxwell dry (or core 15 for windows); no additional info at this point in time

Update: 9201 for non-Maxwell and ATI still get assigned.

Update 2: solved ... New assignments to Maxwell go out to us
