Got my 1 year free subscription, do I cancel now or in 2020?

You’ll still be able to enjoy the trial if you cancel.
All subscription service works like this..
Eg. Netflix, prime etc..
Even subscription services which are based on App Store have to honour their trial.

Not all subscription services work like that. Apple clearly state there’s doesn’t.

All of Apple's free trials end immediately upon cancelation. Just use Reminders to tell you when to cancel.

Not all. I currently have a 3 month free trial of Apple Music and it says if I cancel now I can use the service until the 3 months is up.

Apple's service trials and subscriptions will cancel immediately (I thought). So you'd have to cancel after the sub ends to be able to utilize it until then.
