I have a 2nd generation iPod Touch from a few years ago. The model number is MC086C and it's operating at 4.2.1. I'm also using Windows 7 Home edition.
I want to jailbreak it because most of the Apps in the Store are designed for newer models. I'm hoping to find cool apps from Cinavia or run a SNes Emulator.
At first I tried GreenPoison: gp_win_rc6.1 . I hit the buttons in the right order but the screen went black and wouldn't turn on, so I had to restore from iTunes.
Then I tried RedSnow: redsn0w_win_0.9.15b3 . This one worked slightly better because it showed several lines of text and graphics which were being installed. After a while it got stuck on the Apple logo and the loading-wheel was frozen, so I had to restore from iTunes again.
I've tried both several times without any luck. What am I doing wrong?
