I have this 2008 imac to work on which is giving me problems. I have tried installing through firewire, USB carbon copy (which booted yosemite in safemode only) elcapitan usb installer (no packages eligable), CMD OPT R recovery, no packages eligable, so i went to linux, which i was able to boot USB , but upon installation, I get a bunch of boxy lines. Seems like the computer works great except for the fact it wont properly boot any OS?! HELP! ( i checked the ram by putting one in at a time in different slots also)
