iMessage attachments/pics gone!

I Have the same problem.
2 days ago, I changed nothing and pictures / vidéo are gone from iMessage but still available on iMessage App on my Macbook air.

Any solution ?

Same thing has happened to me. iPhone 5S with 8.1.2. I know it was working 25th and possibly 26th. Only noticed today that the pics are gone. Not sure whether to try restoring from icloud. Did anyone manage to get the pics back with a restore? There is a thread on the apple forums too (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6618182?tstart=0). seems like quite a serious bug in ios 8

This happened to me yesterday ,on a iPhone 6 Plus 128GB iOS 8.0, and so far I have found no answers but a few links with other people who have also had this issue.

It seems to be a big problem and from what I can tell, it is happening to iPhones on iOS 8 and up regardless of model.

It needs to be reported to and addressed by Apple. The loss of years of text message photos and attachments is unacceptable.

The one thing I can add is that it happened to me after the phones battery went completely dead and shut the phone down. Another person also noted this as a possible start to the problem.

I have been able to extract some of the attachments and photos in iMessage using iExplorer from the most recent backups from iTunes before this happened.

I've had this problem since January myself and its now may.. sorry to bring this thread from the dead but still no solution to this madness?

I have the same problem too. I've lost a lot of precious pictures and videos because of this.

And a smug "you should have saved them like me" isn't going to help. I didn't save them because you're supposed to be able to go to details in your messages to get them! (looking at you, Armen - be helpful or gtfo).

I'm going to try using iExplorer to see if I can get them back.

Mine shows them just fine and I have upgraded to 8.0.2

I upgraded to 9 on my 6+ and now all the videos and pics I saved in my email folders

sorry to bring this back but I have the same issue since i upgraded to ios 12..
On my mac they're still there.
Is there a way to force resync or something?
