IOS Update Deadline from Apple & my devices?

Hey Folks,
I have devices released in 2012 and prior, should i be worries since i didn't updated my devices? Can I do it now, iPod touch 5th gen is updating to 9.3.5 is this okay? Please tell me which IOS version is recommnded by Apple for devices:

iPod touch 3rd gen, 4th gen, 5th gen, ipad 2, iphone 5 & 5s
