iPhone X battery: 53 cycles 99 %, 64 cycles 98% within one week

My iPhone X (two month old) battery has dropped to 99% capacity after 53 cycles and then to 98% capacity after 64 cycles within one week.
However, iPhone 7 battery is still 87% even after 580 cycles over two years.
Is my iPhone X battery faulty?

The battery is an analogue/chemical device. Its capacity as measured will vary day-to-day, your expectations re accuracy and especially over such a short timeframe/cycles is simply way off.

Your worry that it may continue to drop at the rate of 1% per 11 cycles is highly likely to be unfounded. On current data you don't have any basis to say the battery is faulty.

Battery loss is not like a gas tank, it is not linear. I've had 96% on my 6s+ for hundreds of cycles. Get out an excel file, take readings (consistently at 100% when device stops charging) via coconutBattery every week for a few months to get an accurate read.

Nothing wrong with your phone or battery. If your averaging 10-15 cyles a week you’ll be at 520-780 cycles after 12 months. That’s heavy use. My X purchased December 2017 has under a hundred cycles and shows 98% for comparison

So does it mean that my 98% at 64 cycles and your 98% at over 100 cycles do not directly link together.
Also that even if I have 98% at 64 cycles, it may possibly continue at 98% for around 200 cycles (say).

On my X, it stayed at 100% for like 6 months, then went from 100% to 93% in a matter of weeks, and stayed at 93% since a few months.

I stopped worrying about that.

I understand that Apple had to be more transparent after the battery throttling episode but I believe that this battery health function has caused many to obsess over it. Myself included!

I’m just saying my phone is almost a year old and has the same amount of cycles as your two month old phone. Apple expects there batteries should be around 80% or more after 500 cycles. Your battery will most likely stabilize and stay at a certain percentage for a long time. It actually could even go up a percent or two. I would not be concerned with your battery performance, it seems to be wearing normally..

How do you count cycles. My SE is 16 month old, but have no idea how many cycles.

Make sure to check battery life only at 100% charge, it should be most accurate.

Also battery reporting is more accurate on iPhone 8/X & newer cause of some hardware changes over the 7.

Dude 98% with so few cycles isn't normal.

98% at 150-200 cycles is normal .

The drop to 99% takes the longest amount of time. You need to study your basics.

my god the amount of people that worry about their battery health is ridiculous, no wonder apple didn't show it for the longest time. It's not a linear drop, it happens relatively randomly within a long term linear trend

I don’t believe battery health is an analyzed result of the chemical reaction occurring inside the battery. It’s only an estimation.

I believe that is an issue from iOS12 affecting (looks like) all iPhone's; or for the moment anyone older than Xs 2018 generation.
