I have a Mac thats on OS 10.6.8 and is super old. We only use it to Bootcamp into Windows 7 but due to some errors, we need to do a backup. The problem is that its been so long, we have forgotten the sudo password.

We currently have Windows 7 & Mac OS 10.6.8 installed. I was wondering if there is some exploit or script that allows us to bypass or gain root privilages? I know its a very weird question but this is for a really old mac.

IF not, can we boot into the Windows OS, change a file on the Mac Drive to a password we want? We know the password for admin privilages on Windows (its the one we been using for like 4+ years)
