Big thread, can anyone help with a basic sleeve for the MacBook Pro 2019 13” that actually fits.

Wanting ideally one that has a zip pocket as well for charger and lead.

Apple ones are too expensive for what I want as only for house and keeping out of way and stored.

Loads on Amazon, have had a few and they say for 13” 2019 but are a bit generic and are just too big so slip about inside.

Thanks

Thanks, should have said UK... ideally Amazon UK for return as well, but I’ll search that one thanks to see. Have you got this one for 13” MBP?
I bought the sleeve and case for my 15. They do make them to custom fit all sizes though.

I think you will be hard pressed to find any decent brands in the UK. They tend to be in the US and I usually end up ordering from there. SF Bags is another good one.

To be fair there loads on Amazon UK is just a lot say for the MBP2019 and x and x so mustn’t be exactly for it which to me means a little bigger to fit all types in

This is a UK brand. But probably not made there. Have no idea how good they are.

Let me second Tom Bihn and Waterfield (SFBags). I have several form both and they are high quality, durable and fit well. I've dragged mine on many airplane flights and they still look good. Lifetime warranty as well.

I agree. I’ve bought stuff from both and they’re very good quality. My iPad Pro sleeve is from SF Bags.

Personally I prefer something that’s specially designed and made for what I’m buying for.

That’s what I mean, I want something specific for the MBP 13” 2019, I imagine a lot of sellers do sell on Amazon as well, it’s just a matter of finding one, reason I asked as imagine lots have

I understand what you’re saying I just don’t trust the sellers on Amazon when it comes to their products. The two US retailers mentioned above have a very good reputation and very good quality products. When it comes to a sleeve for a laptop I rather order from them even if I have to pay more.

Anyone have any experience with these two Tomtoc sleeves?

I had the first one but it sustained some damage recently and I’m looking to replace it. I dunno if I should replace it with the same model or try the newer one.

Any cases anywhere for the new MBP16 ? I can only find the apple leather sleeve.

Waterfield Designs (sfbags.com) updated their site listing 16" support where available. They make excellent products.

Note: They have huge extra fees for shipping outside the US (It's almost $100 just to ship a backpack to Canada for example).

My waterfield sleeve that I had for my 2013 15 inch MacBook Pro fits the 16 easily, it is a great fit. They do make nice products.

I suspect the footprint of the 16” model is no different then the 15” model. It just has more display real estate and less bezel. So it probably fits inside sleeves made for the 15”. Same with the 10” and 11” iPad Pro’s.

It’s slightly larger but noteably still smaller than the 2015 rMBP 15”. Most sleeve manufacturers make their sleeve 2015-2019 universal. So it should fit most. (Doubt it will fit Apples 15” sleeve since it’s a tight fit, and Apple has released a 16” version)

From video comparison and looking up the dimensions, the 16" actually has a very similar footprint to the old 2012-2015 Retina MacBook Pro.

16-inch MacBook Pro:
Height: 0.64 inch (1.62 cm)
Width: 14.09 inches (35.79 cm)
Depth: 9.68 inches (24.59 cm)

15-inch Retina MacBook Pro:
Height: 0.71 inch (1.8 cm)
Width: 14.13 inches (35.89 cm)
Depth: 9.73 inches (24.71 cm)

I'd wager that other than the hard cases of course; sleeves and bags that fit the old Pre-2016 15" Retina MacBook Pros should work quite well.

Funnily enough, it also makes me realize how freak'in massive the old 17-inch MacBook Pro was.

I'm a big fan of waterfield products, sadly, many of their products are only designed for the MBP and so limit themselves. I want to buy a waterfield bag, but because my laptop is 14.24 inches wide instead of 14.09, I'm SOL :(

Looking for suggestions for a high end carrying sleeve and carrying bag? Something for work and not a backpack?

Thanks!!

Congrats on the new machine. I'm personally waiting for Incase to release their products for the 16", I've been a fan of their stuff in the past. Apple also has a premium leather sleeve made specifically for the 16" if that's what you're looking for.
