Is there a fix for 10.14.4 external hard drives not mounting?

Downgraded macos the light on the hdd flashes like a heartbeat in 10.14.3. Yet in windows 10 is fine.

Updated to 10.14.5 and my screen now turns black when I watch videos in fullscreen, just after a couple of seconds. When I move the mouse the image comes back but then turns black again. Anyone with similar experience?

What videos? Files from your HD or streaming videos? I have not seen this issue in .5 or .6 on Amazon nor on Netflix nor on videos from my phone played on the Mac.

I can repeat this problem, but only if I play video in full screen in clamshell mode. If I open my lid the issue disappears.

Videos on the web (YouTube) and local videos, so pretty much everything. I am using a Mac Mini with one screen attached to it.

Not seeing anything like that on a MacBook- Could it be a loose or failing cable?

Unfortunately not. Interestingly, I don't seem to have the problem in Firefox. I have filed a report with Apple, let's what happens. It is definitely software related because I didn't have the problem in 10.14.4.

Has anybody been experiencing issues with their keychain? I keep getting prompted to put in my passwords for all my accounts and for some reason iMessage is not working either - I imagine those two are some how related.

I'm having the exact same issue, Mac mini 2018 with one monitor. I've tested other monitors as well and they all have the same issue. Full screen videos disappear once the playback controls disappear. Only happens in 10.14.5.

I have an external drive that I've installed both 10.14.3 and 10.14.5 on to test with and 10.14.3 does not have the issue and 10.14.5 does. So both my main install and external install of 10.14.5 have this issue. It's pretty frustrating. I haven't been able to find anyone else mention this issue except for on this forum.

Good to hear I am not the only one. I would suggest filing a report with Apple, so they know more people are affected. Maybe I will try out 10.14.6 Beta on an external install to see if it fixes the problem.

After upgrade to 10.14.5, it broke Safari,,, I only captured this (when using multiple browsers and Safari is NOT the default) by trial'n'error as its too quick otherwise

If the popup is not answered, Safari is unusable until it is.... Fix was to delete All Safari .plist files.. in home folder > library.

There could of been easier way, but it worked for me

I submitted a report to Apple. Let me know if the 10.14.6 beta makes any difference. Hopefully this gets fixed soon.

Seems like 10.14.5 supplemental update to my 2018 MBP (15") somehow messed up my bluetooth keyboard (LogiTech K780). It intermittently drops my bluetooth keyboard. Strangely not my Apple Magic Mouse 2.

It also freezes my mail app. If I put the computer to sleep and wake up later, it does NOT retrieve my email. Even when I manually tell it to check for new mail ("MailBox" --> "Check New Mail").

Any particular reason for running the combo update?
I will give it a shot but would like to know why or if it makes any difference.

those things shouldn't be happening with an incremental update. running the combo updater will simply write that update over what's there... and might fix things (and might not). but nothing to lose (altho always, back up first)

2012 MacBook Pro Bluetooth issues Mojave 10.14.5 broke my Bluetooth in clamshell mode when computer hibernates. Used to be able to wake computer with magic keyboard or trackpad. For some reason now the Bluetooth is disabled in hibernate now I have to wake computer by opening lid. It works fine when in sleep just not hibernate. I think it has something to do with the EFI update.

Anyone else notice this issue?

I am not following on what you mean by "turning off". The messages app doesn't "turn off" as it will remain in docks unless you did NOT put it in the docks. If you simply open it, when you quit, it will disappear from the dock.

If you want to have it remaining in the dock, you have to put it there without launching it. Then when you quit, it will remain in the dock.
