Just to chime in, for well over a week now I cannot update apps on my Mac, 2 iPhones (iOS 13.2.3 and iOS 12.4.3), and one iPad Pro that are all using the same AppleId account. Being a developer, yes TestFlight has been used on these devices however:

I also have other devices (iOS 13.2.3) that TestFlight was also used on and they can still update just fine. These other devices are using other, non-developer account linked AppleIds.

So I don't think it is as simple as whether TestFlight was used or not, or even whether sandbox purchases where made, etc... as I see that some AppleIds work and some don't regardless of whether TestFlight apps (or even direct developer builds over USB) where installed.

I feel sorry for not being on a device of an apple support engineer, if so the problem was already solved
restore the device? It does not solve anything. I have apps with stored content, of course I won't do it, but more quickly I push it against a wall and I get rid of it.

Randomly right now I can update again.

I had the same problem the past few days too on my phone and ipad.. I'll check my ipad when I get home.
Mine still doesn't work. Day 3 and now 45+ apps with pending updates. ?

My call back from Apple support is scheduled for tomorrow. I swear if the advisor tells me engineering has told me to contact iTunes support again I’m going to scream. Not that I don’t think the problem needs to be fixed by iTunes (App Store) support, but because I tried that when they suggested it on Monday and iTunes support blew me off.

Oh and I’m up to 55 apps, but I offloaded all my apps that had updates and reinstalled them over the weekend. If I hadn’t done that I’d be closer to 100.

I have had the same problem for a few weeks now, nothing updates on iPad, iPhone and MacBook. All are on the most recent OS update. Also have used TestFlight in the last few months.
Don't really have anything to add to the discussion, just wanted to be counted. Hopefully Apple will start to see the quantity of people impacted.

So least they are calling you back. I contacted Apple today and was told that the specialist was going to call me by end of day and that they didn’t want to hand the case over. Still haven’t heard anything.

Someone on Twitter tweeted me that he could now update, so I tried it and I’m actually seeing some apps update now.

I managed to get one to update so I did an update all. None of those worked so I tried updating YouTube manually and it worked. None of my other apps are updating though.

Things may be starting to slowly return to normal. It’s definitely not fixed yet though.

It's definitely working now. I can update only 2 app at once. Update all still doesn't work. But manually selecting 2 application to update works.

Guys, update are working suddenly. But only 2 apps at a time.

Try it on the appstore.

Yep. I need to keep trying multiple times, but it is working intermittently. Maybe they are pushing out the fix to the servers one by one.

I wouldn’t call it working, but it’s better. I’m currently getting it to update around once out of over 10 to 20 tries. It’s a good sign though. I’m hoping by tomorrow morning it will be back to normal

I received a voicemail from someone at “Apple Executive Relations”. I have the “Silence unknown callers” feature of iOS 13 turned on so I missed their call. They also sent a cryptic email saying “Your correspondence concerns an issue that we feel would be best handled in a phone conversation.” Which is a little weird. I’ll call them back tomorrow...

Holy smokes it’s working. I can’t update all 80+ at once but so far going one by one seems to be working!!!

Thanks for thanking me. ? I don’t know how much help I did. I just hope everyone can update their backlog of apps soon.

I managed to update ONE app, after dozen of tries.
Still, it seems like 99% of updates are not working.

Let's hope it's the "start" of a fix...

EDIT: it actually seems to be working more often now. I've updated other apps (still need multiple tries for each one).

Well you sent to the media and press, which was good enough to get their attention. Currently im able to update 2 app at once. Maybe you should try.

Yeah I have to hit update multiple times for it to trigger. Working on both my iPad and iPhone. Mac still refuses to update apps, but I'm gonna try and restart and see if that works. Can anyone with a Mac confirm app updates are working?

I’m going to try later. I’ve managed to update 9 apps across 2 devices, but I’ve had to tap update over 100 times to do so.

It’s still not updating reliably as the apps I actually want to update still refuse to do so. Hopefully tomorrow.

Working for me now as well - you have to hit the app a few times to get it to work, but I'm getting updates to come through. I think what's happening is that you're getting a different content distribution edge server each time you tap and you just have to do it enough times until you get one the fix has propagated to. I expect this will all be resolved shortly as the servers all come online with the update.

Great job everyone for bringing attention to this, thanks so much, and thanks to whoever it was at Apple that noticed and made the fix!

Yeah a restart seemed to fix it for me. Still have to try multiple times to get updates to start…but at long last my Phone is completely updated haha! I made sure to restart and then sign in and out of the app store before trying on all 3 of my devices and that seems to have worked.

Yep, started working for me too — ironically, as I was in the middle of offloading and reinstalling apps. Tried to update at the beginning of that process and no luck; offloaded most of the apps and reinstalled, then tried again with the one app left in the upload list, and it worked! Checked for more updates, which brought up a good-sized list, and those updated as well.

Funnily enough, I just spent a while on the phone with a higher-level Apple support specialist earlier this evening (they actually called back when they were supposed to). She didn’t seem to be aware of this issue, but I told her to check out this thread, and she sent off more information to engineering. I’ve got another call back scheduled for Friday, but it looks like they’ve taken care of the problem. Hopefully permanently.
