Our household is what would be called "a mixed-platform environment".

We have a couple of older Macs. We have an iPad Mini 2. We have a couple of Motorola Android smartphones.

Questions:

1: Does anyone know of a recent go-to guide on how to take your existing iTunes library and share it with Android phones? So far, all we've done is share the iTunes library with the iPad.

2: Does anyone know how the pending elimination of iTunes will affect the sharing of an iTunes music library with iOS and Android devices?

3: Are there any recent videos on YouTube about any of this? What search terms would work?

There are a few options (including just using Apple Music on Android with subscription) but the easiest (and free) option by far is to just use Google Play Music. You can download the Play Music Manager app, upload your iTunes library and voila - done. You can store up to 50,000 tracks and they'll be available anywhere on any device/platform via the Play Music apps or a web browser.

Sorry I did not make this clearer. None of us are on any subscription services. Our iTunes music library is mostly tracks ripped from CDs years ago. We have those tracks copied onto the iPad, but we haven't tried doing this with the Android phones.
