I probably did do the Security update, can't 100% recall but I do remember that my 2011 Core i7 MBP had a Security Update that upgraded its bootrom from 85.0.0.0.0 to 87.0.0.0.0.

Did the Safari Safari 13.0.2 and 13.0.3 updates.

App Store Vers. 3.0 ( (1003.3) ) no longer shows a history of installed system updates. Thanks Apple..

The security update would leave your system as build number 18G1012 and did revise firmware to match the versions included in the 10.15.1 update, where applicable.
You can see update installation history in System Report.

the "fetch-full-installer" functionality in softwareupdate is new to Catalina, and I don't think including "-l" with it does anything.

10.15.2 build 19C32e released this afternoon, for now only updates and without the full installer. 4,69 GB.

Downloading it now to check for any firmwares.

Btw, two packages, one Combo and another Delta. 4,69GB vs 4,51GB.

Thanks, downloading now - it's a big one isn't it ! . I'll try it on a spare 10.14.6 installed SSD tonight.

EDIT : just discovered that I had to format my spare target SSD to APFS to allow installation of the 2019-001 Security Update.

( The fact that this Security Update 2019-001 cannot be installed to an HFS+ installation bothers me )

Doing that now. CCC is cloning my current HFS+ 10.14.6 build 18G103 to the APFS spare SSD, should be done in about 20 mins.

I'll check my bootrom build after cloning my current HFS+ formatted 10.14.6 to the APFS volume and post the results.

Hopefully I'll be able to install the above Security Update and get the new new build.

NOTE : I definitely do not want Mojave final in APFS.

Mojave has never supported running on HFS+. It should be no surprise that doing so leads to unexpected behaviors, in particular with regard to software updates and installations.

Mojave 10.14.6 build 18G1012.png


I've been running Mojave 10.14.6 build 18G103 on a HFS+ formatted Samsung 970 EVO M.2 since it was released with out any issues except this Security Update.

I will keep this newly APFS formatted SanDisk Z10 SSD as my " latest Mojave 14.6 backup " and also as a way to install future Mojave Security & any other important updates which are of course nice to have.

From tomorrow I'll CCC clone tonight's APFS installation to another HFS+ formatted SSD and see how stable it is over a month or so. Then, if there have been no issues, I'll clone that to the HFS+ 970 EVO.

I'm extremely happy with Mojave 10.14.6 and won't even think about Catalina until it goes final.

( I even have my almost 16 year old Canon A3 format LBP-1610 laser printer running perfectly in Mojave with a Sandboxing / CUPs hack :cool: this A3 printer is in 'as new' condition )

Glad you were able to fix your problem, but if you don't mind my asking, why are you running Mojave on an HFS+ drive?

I don't 100% trust APFS.

If there are future Security or other updates I will learn of them through the Net.

I keep a 10.14.6 build 18G1012 APFS installation on a separate SSD for any future updates.

Hi all,

Seen today that I'm running bootrom Startup-ROM-version: 140.0.0.0.0 with Mojave 10.14.6 on my cMP 5.1 2010.

How do I get to 144.0.0.0.0 where the original Mojave installer no longer available on the Appstore. I want to update the rom as I would like to have the machine NVME bootable.

Software Updates don't update MP5,1 BootROM, only full installer. Read the first post of the Mojave/BootROM upgrade thread.

New build of 10.15.1 (19B2106) 061-32959 061-45871, BridgeOSUpdateCustomer 061-32956 and a Supplemental Update released today for the new MacBook Pro 16":

The macOS Catalina 10.15.1 supplemental update improves the stability and reliability of displays and peripherals with MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019).

Weirdly, not one Ivy-Bridge Mac got a firmware update. Maybe Intel is not sending microcode updates for Ivy-Bridge processors, not one got an update.

'Seems' faster & more responsive than High Sierra. HFS+ install.
