Hi!

I have an iMac 11,1 with Seagate HD which is everyday worse and worse. In 99.9% I am using FreeBSD which is installe on iMac and OS X is on still. I am using rEFit boot manager.
I decided to buy a new HD - 1 TB Western Digital and I am using PC keyboard.
And my question is:
After I change a HD, I like to boot from external CD/DVD (USB) because internal CD/DVD doesn't work anymore and install FreeBSD. Should I expect a problems, please? It will boot from CD?

Thank you very much.

It works. I took the old HD out, put in SSD and install FreeBSD without OS X and it works like a charm. I didn't change not working internal optical drive.
