I think the point is that these concepts work in 2D, too...it is not just about the 3D. My desktop gets pretty cluttered during the day, with incoming files etc. I regularly tidy it up, but being able to quickly group and organize 'clusters' of files would be useful to me.

I thought that the use of the wheel menu was good. It's been around about as long as the GUI itself but has never seen the light of day in the real world.

I thought that the desktop was a good start but it's just that--a desktop. The other 95 % of the user interface needs to be planned.

It's clever to be sure.
