Just picked her up Saturday. Waited for the calendar year to roll to grab a 2018 at a heavy discount. Honda absolutely knocked it out of the park with this redesign.

I have a 1991 SW20 Turbo, 2002 Dodge Ram 1500, 2003 Mazda Protege5, 2015 Mazda5, and a 2019 VW Jetta.
Here are my two favorite out of the bunch.....

This is the last photo I took of the MR2:

The last one I took of the P5:

The Dodge Ram, Mazda5, and Jetta are pretty boring cars..... I don't think I ever took photos of any of them...

Last summer, I was looking into the Civic for a commuter and a newer car for my kids to use.

It was a pretty impressive car, looked nice, fun to drive, good fuel economy while still having nice power and low end torque. You could also get the standard transmission on a few different trims which was nice.

I probably would have gotten the Civic, but the redesigned 2019 VW Jetta with the 1.4T was much cheaper, and had a much better warranty.

As for specs, they are pretty even, I think the Civic has more power, but the Jetta has more torque at a lower RPM. The gas mileage is insane on the VW Jetta though, in my experience, much better than the advertised EPA mileage.

For an almost all highway trip of over 100 miles, I got 57 miles per gallon according to the car. This is insane for a gasoline car imo....

I keep track of my fuel using the fuelly app, and it is 36 average since I purchased it, and it keeps going up almost each refill.

One thing that the Civic beats the Jetta on is the driving experience. The Jetta is soooooo boring to drive, especially compared to my other cars.

But, for a commuter car that gets great mileage, that costs less than $16K, it is really nice...

yeah i sold my civic to get an accord. Accord is much more quicker and roomy. Love the Honda Sensing. I looked at Jetta sometime ago but decided to go with Accord!

Agreed. The Accord backseat is a cavern of room. I was absolutely shocked how much space. And for a large sedan it is very quick and loved the entire package.

Why do the new Accords not have that beautiful digital display??? The one and only thing I am not enjoying about my '18 Accord.

Accords traditionally have always had the dual dial analog setup. Civics started experimenting with digital speedometer starting in 2006 and now full digital in EX trim and above (2016+).

Though I love the setup, you’re limited to one “page” at a time. The one I posted was for the fuel efficiency and range. The next one is turbo gauge, then there’s others for music, compass, navigation, phone, maintenance info, etc.

Just be glad you have HondaSense on yours! I wanted it on mine but it wasn’t standard at the time.
