In my case, the right earbud is always going 20% lower charge than the left and I am assuming the right one is providing the mic function for a total of 3-4 hours of phone/conference calls. As a result, the right one is dying off sooner than left one, when left one has 20% charge left. This effectively makes the battery life 20% shorter for me.
I would have thought even if this discrepancy is due to active mic usage, they would design it in a way to alternate the mic usage to keep the battery level similar throughout the day. Always using the right earbud for mic (in Auto setting) will also reduce the lifetime of the right earbud's battery. That's not a good default behavior.
