I am trying to clean the heads on my Epson Stylus C70 plus and when I go to

Applications>Utilities>Printer utility

and choose the printer the option for utilities is faint and unclickable.

I have also tried library>Printers>EPSON>utilities
but when I open the epson utility there is no printer in the list.

I am using 10.3.8 and i'm sure that last time I used this system I could use the utilities. But I remember when using 10.1.2 I had to delete the canon drivers to get the printer working at all.

The printer does work I just can't get the utilities open.

Any suggestions?
thanks

A reinstall of the printer software might help. Go to the manufacturer's web site, select software/driver downloads, select your printer model, and download the software appropriate for your operating system and version. Install it, restart if necessary, repair permissions (open Applications, open Utilities folder, open Disk Utility, click hard disk, click Repair Permissions), and see if the utilities work again.
