Update website without iWeb

Hey guys,

I run a shopify ecommerce service. I built a website for it on iWeb a few years ago, using my old white MacBook. I recently bought a used MacBook Pro (13inch mid-2012), running El Capitan.

I noticed there is no longer any sign of iWeb. I presume it is discontinued?

A few things - all my passwords etc were saved on iWeb, so I didn't even have to sign in to my domain company etc to make website edits. It was all there.

Now what do I do? I need to edit some information on my website, and I have zero idea how to access it or do that on my new Macbook.

Hi there - sticky situation. I believe it is discontinued, and I suggest you get away from it ASAP and make use of something like WordPress/etc.

You might be able to download an older version here: https://support.apple.com/downloads/iweb

However, it's not likely to work on El Capitan.

Any chance you have the old machine still to at least access the site and pull things out? That might be your best bet.

iWeb 3.0.4 still works on Mojave so it should work on El Capitan
