So im a developer and infrastructure specialist. Mainly in c#, powershell and some swift. Yes I'm working at my MacBook all the time.

Anyway, I have the MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro 32GB ram and 512GB disk.

I love it, it's mobile etc but when I'm at my desk connecting two 4,5k monitors and working with some
Projects etc I can see lag and I'm also starting to fill up my 512GB disk.

So my guess is that the base M1 Pro cpu was not the Best Buy for me.
But I have been enjoying it since release.

So now I kind of need a new one with 64GB ram and bigger disk and better CPU/GPU.

I was thinking, I still need to be mobile sometimes and it's nice working in bed etc and for that my MBP work perfect as I just need to adopte to the situation and two 4,5k displays seems to make my mbp struggel sometimes. Ofc my workflow also effects it.

So then I started to look at the Mac Studio, I can get the best M1 Max, 64GB of ram and 1TB disk for 3400 euro. And then keep my MacBook Pro.

Or, sell my MacBook Pro and buy the new MacBook Pro M2 Max 64GB/1TB for 5200 euro

As you can see the price difference is kind of big here.

But I can't decide what to do, what should you have done?

Another option: get a refurb 14" with the specs you want unless the M2 Max provides advancements over the M1 Max that will facilitate your workflow.

Keep the laptop you have, for "laptop things".

GET a Mini m2pro, for desktop things.

I haven't decided yet.
I can go with MacBook Pro 14" m2 Max 64/2tb or go with Mac Studio M1 Max 64/1or2tb + keep my MacBook Pro 14" 32/512gb

This is a hard one to decide...
