I'm stuck in a loop guys, please help.

Want to upgrade from Mountain Lion 10.8.5 to Mojave.
I am told I cannot do it directly, need to upgrade to El Capitan or High Sierra first.

When I go to download El Capitan or High Sierra from AppStore I get a message to update my BILLING INFO when I tap OK on that, I get a message I need to update my software first! It's a chicken and egg situation.

Pls advise what do I do and how?

Details of my computer:
iMac, Late 2012
Memory 8 GB
Software OS X 10.8.5 (12F2560)
Storage 200 GB free

Thanks a billion!

there
This is weird, or they do not release any older OSXs thru the app store anymore as rumored this summer. I would try, try again. you are going from Mt Lion to ElCap?
