Hi,
I’m looking at doing some recording using a 2017 MacBook Pro, connecting a behringer U Phoria UM2 as audio interface.

This interface draws power from the USB rather than having its own external power source.

Can the USBC/thunderbolt ports provide the power required for the phantom power to drive condenser mics?

(The audio-interface has 48v phantom power, just I don’t know if the MacBook can provide the necessary power for it to work, and don’t want to overload it)

I don't know the math behind it all, but experimentally... yes, absolutely.

I have a USB interface that can drive 2 condensers over "USB A 2.0 power" only.

I use quotes because the spec for USB A 2.0 power limits is lower than that of C. If stuff is un-conforming, the everything is a crapshoot. But at the end of the day, do a little googling on people that own that interface. Maybe read some amazon reviews. If it wasn't engineered properly and couldn't provide sufficient power for condensers, people will have complained.
