I often need to run OSX as a virtual machine from within OSX.
Which gives better performance: VM ware, Parallels or Virtual Box?
I've seen lots of discussions which says Parallels is hands down the best for running Windows on Mac. But what about OSX on OSX?
Thanks!

Also do any allow you to run OSX from an existing OSX partition?

I don't think there's much difference between Parallels or VMWare Fusion when virtualizing macOS. Virtualbox is more difficult to get running and is slower.
None of these will virtualize an actual partition.
