What size monitor are you photographers rocking with?

I have the 2007 model of the Dell Ultrasharp 30". I had two requirements at the time - good size and excellent color reproduction. The monitor covers something like 98% of the Adobe RGB color space.

When I picked it up in 2011 I specifically bought the 2007 model because the other Ultrasharps that came out in 2011 switched to LED back lighting instead of cold cathode and did not have nearly the same color performance. I was afraid the 2011 30" would be the same so I went with the known screen. It turns out the 30" with LEDs performed as well as the 2007 and much better than the other contemporary screens.

30" affords me a good filed of view when viewed 1:1 for cleaning up dust and hot pixels. It is a different aspect ratio from today's monitors but I really like the size and resolution (2560 x 1600).

24” still come in 16:10 aspect ratio. But the 30” that you used to be able to get were nice.

Yeah, the aspect ratio isn't much of an issue. My driving consideration was color accuracy. I would send files off to the lab for large prints and they would come back spot on.

I would have loved an Eizo display but I couldn't justify, or stomach, the cost.

They are impressive. But the difference between the BenQ and Eizo doesn’t justify the extra cost in my opinion.

No they weren't. As I've been working with them since the launch of their first photography monitor.
Mind you I've been working with Eizo for longer.

Yeah, considering the specs, I'm sure it's in the realm of reasonable depending on the work you do. I don't get how a slab of aluminum to hold it upright is $999 though.

I'm debating to replace my venerable 10+-year-old Apple cinema display. I was thinking of a 4k 27" or an ultra wide 34"

It dawned on me that it will be nice to see what other photographers are rocking with. It may give me a perspective and insight.

I’m using a 10 ish year old 23” Apple Cinema Display. I suspect this won't give you any perspective or insight you don’t already have!

I had forgotten to mention this, but was reminded upon reading about the new MBP 16".

If I needed a full 100% Adobe RGB monitor to proof on instead of an Eizo I might just plop down the cash for a Dell XPS 15" laptop. For $1700 you'd get a 4k resolution and 100% Adobe coverage, in an OLED panel no less. Plus a whole computer attached. Not sure if it's HDR though.

32 inch 16/9 1440p HP omen with a Mac mini, and brand new Asus rog laptop

This time last year I attempted to upgrade to a 34 inch ultrawide. I actually found it a downgrade, due to the reduced vertical height vs the 32, and sent it back.

I will probably be upgrading to 4k in the near future since my PC, and Mac can both handle it, although I am still pretty happy with my 1440p display.

I've only had my new camera and lenses a couple of days now and already I am seeing that it is definitely time to hit up the bank account again -- this time for an external monitor! I've managed quite nicely over the the last few years with just using the 15" display on my MBP but now that I'm going to be doing much more serious post-processing/editing and viewing of the images I shoot with my new gear, I realize that yes, I really do need more screen real estate!

No, I used a 13" MacBook, and when I got my Mini, I needed a monitor.
I really like the size and curvature for photo editing. The resolution is lower than the retina, but it didn't really bother me.

Maybe I missed something, but why that monitor when you can get an LG 27UL500-W for $250 at Amazon or B&H right now? it's got more resolution/screen space since it's a 4k, 99% sRGB, and HDR. Given the prices right now, 4k just seems like such a better deal than the lower resolutions. Is it some problem with the connections?
