Really looking forward to Crisis On Infinite Earths event on the CW that's starting this Sunday. It's been a year in the making.

Netflix series Confession Killer.

What an odd case and legal mess that was.

Seen the movie but not the series.

Watching Killjoys at the moment. Fairly low budget Sci-fi but watchable.
The series was before, movie after. Firefly was a show that had a fan base, but not a big enough fan base. It’s not as polished as The Expanse, of which Season 4 cranks up in 3 days. I’ll take a look at Killjoys.

The Marvelous Mrs Maisel (2017-) Just finished season 3. This is one of the best (comedy/drama)shows on Amazon Prime, about a 1960s New York City Jewish housewife who discovers she has a talent for adult standup comedy. Great characters, smart dialog, outstanding cinematography, I feel transported back to 60s, even though I was a kid then. :) Lenny Bruce is portrayed in it. It really impresses me, when I watch a show and it feels like I’m watching someone’s life.

Well, we spent our evenings this week watching the CW's "Crisis On Infinite Earths" crossover and it was fantastic. They left everything on a cliffhanger till next month when "Legends of Tomorrow" returns. Such a good crossover!

That circuit was called the Borscht Belt. Many big name early TV comedians came directly from there. What a treasure they created. a2

We watched the first 3 episodes of Season One of Star Trek:Discovery. So far we are enjoying quite a bit. Interesting storyline, good acting and nice FX. It's really quite obvious that these episodes have Bryan Fuller's hand on them. His work is always spectacular!

I'm dropping Watchmen. Nothing to do with Jean Smart in the most recent episode, that was a coincidence, but I'm getting Legion season 2 vibes...
So, I circled back to Watchmen this past weekend and binged the remaining 5 episodes and then the finale last night. It has been getting some great reviews the past few weeks, and with it being a one-and-done season/series, I thought I'd give it another chance.

And I'm glad I did. My earlier comparison to the fustercluck season 2 of Legion was premature. The rest of the episodes fell into place in sort of a satisfying way, and the finale was pretty fantastic.

I’ve renewed acquaintance with a series I haven’t seen since I was a young man.

Scientific implausibilities aside, the storytelling was as good as I remember it.

The first season, that is. The second season had a different producer and became ridiculous.

It’s on Amazon Prime.

Make sure you watch Dragon's Domain, S1E23 ... holy **** that scared the heck out of me when I was a kid, gave me nightmares - it's still pretty scary

Prime also has another old Gerry Anderson SciFi show, UFO, it's fantastically good/bad all at the same time ... and so very groovy.

“Dragon’s Domain” happens to be one of my favorite episodes, in part because that monster was horrific.

I know what you mean about UFO. It’s kinda sexist (although some of the guys wore see-thru uniforms as well), the music is somehow simultaneously jazzy and bordering on sounding like a porn track, and the model work is rather unrefined. I still like the show, though. It’s “of a time” and yes, groovy when considered in that light. Actually bought the box set some years ago.

Ha, I watched UFO as a kid with my Dad. I loved it at the time especially all the interesting vehicles like the interceptor launched from a submarine. Some don't make sense now, like the uniforms worn by the female Moonbase crew, and the effects look really cheesy now. :p

Yes! I love how the intro explains all the equipment :D

Hahaha, the design of the Moonbase Interceptors is great: "Oh, I missed with my ONE huge missile, I guess I'll go back to base ..."

My wife loves the uniform/flight suite that converts into a super-mod mini skirt :D

We also started The Witcher last night, (just the 1st episode, so far) and it was really good. I will definitely be watching the rest. Also watched an episode of Disenchanted. Still a favourite animated comedy of mine!

The stretch out will hurt Apple TV viewing. Netflix has always had about the right spacing.

Waiting each season for 'Better call Saul' is getting tougher. LOL a2

Watched the first episode of season 2 of Lost in Space. Looks promising! Also watched ep. 2 of The Witcher. There's obviously some time differences going on here, but they aren't spelling them out and it doesn't bother me too much. The show's pretty good!

I loved Season 1 of Discovery, then season 2 lost me, every episode became an over the top extravaganza that imo should be relegated to climatic finals, not relied upon as a matter of routine which diminishes the story telling.

That’s on our list. Season 1 was good. :)

A comment about The Witcher, for myself and wife, there was much potential, but it’s squandered with completely forgettable acting, direction, and disjointed, flawed story telling. We’ll make it to the end, but that’s because there are only 8 episodes to endure. ;)

Firefly (2003)- Wildwest Space Opera, entertaining and enjoyable, unfortunately only one season. Episode 1 is plenty to tell if you like it. There is a follow up movie.

It's Amazing How Badly Fox Screwed Up Joss Whedon's 'Firefly'
https://www.businessinsider.com/fox-screwed-up-firefly-2014-9
Just finished Firefly, on to Serenity! On its original broadcast, Fox took this show with serialized episodes and broadcast them out of order, and they interfered with the writing on this show, more guns, less sex, and I think they cut the season short. Fortunately, the movie Serenity wraps up loose ends to some degree.

Update: Finished Serenity Movie (2005) it’s a good movie if you are vested in the series Firefly.
