RAID 1 setup: Using one HDD for mirroring multiple HDDs

Good day! I am trying to mirror via RAID 1, two or more HDDs with one HDD. Is it possible? I would imagine partitioning would do the trick, but I don't see a way to do this when setting up RAID 1 in Disk Utility. Am wrong, or am I missing a step? Thanks for advice, folks.

Hey guys, I'm currently using a very old Mac Pro 1.1 as a server running 10.6.8, it has 4 HDDs that are paired for RAID 1 and they're finally running out of space. I bought 4 new drives and created an identical RAID structure in the hope of using CCC to simply clone the volumes and everything...

    Raid 1 in Mac pro

Hi! I am planning to make a raid 1 for my mother's mac pro 1,1. She has 2x4 tb disks I just bought and I was thinking of the easiest way for her (she is not a tech person) to have kind of a back up on 2 disks. I first thought of CCC but even if I make a script, I fear she will do something...
