release day

I'm from Canada and missed the pre-order so I ordered from Best Buy and I still don't have an update. So I'm thinking of trying to go on release day to my local Apple store. Do you think going to line up at 5am is enough time to ensure an Iphone pro max? And has anyone waited outside a mall...

Preorders for the phone are gonna be wild, and based on what happened last year with the 7+, will there be any available in store on release day? What are your thoughts?

I'm thinking of buying a MacBook Pro Retina 13" but I don't know when the new ones will be released. I can wait another 2 months, is that enough or should I just buy the current model? Anyone know what the new one will feature? Thanks guys for all the advice!
