Hi I just bought a used iPhone 12 Pro Max on eBay and when my son went to use the 0.5 lens we get this curved black line kinda an arc across top of photos. I circled it in red. You don't see it when using the camera and it doesn't happen on the other lens. Of course the cool 0.5 lens was the main reason we upgraded / bought this phone. I don't see any obstruction on the outside of lens. I need to figure this out to get back to seller. As much as it would be a pita to return the phone and get another one if it isn't an easy fix I'll need to do that asap. Thank you for your advice!

Is it the top left lens? Because in the photo of it. It looks like there’s some sort of ellipse shaped fogging. They also look like they might have some lens protectors on them.

it goes across the top of the pictures. it starts lower on the left and goes across the top. I can see why you would think it would be a misplaced lens protector but that isn't the case.

I mean the actual picture of your phone. It looks like the top left lens has an ellipse on it.

I’d say setup a bright light and grab a magnifying glass. Then carefully inspect each lens. Adjusting the angle of the phone to the light. To see if you can spot the problem at some oblique angle.

I’m guessing the problem is physically inside the lens assembly and can’t be fixed without new cameras. Perhaps condensation.
