Can someone tell me if 1 GB RAM works in an Emac G4 1,42 and if it has to be installed in pairs for optimal speed?
RAM PC 2700 - 333 or PC 3200 - 400
TIA

Not for $85. You would see some speed improvement, but I don't think it would justify that much money for the amount of performance you'd get.neoelectronaut said:Sorry to dredge up a slightly-old thread, but I didn't think something this simple would be worth making a whole new one over:
I'm using a 1Ghz G4 eMac, with 768MB of RAM. This is the older system using PC133 ram.
What my question is, is whether or not anyone thinks it's worth it to take out the 256MB module and install a 512MB module instead. I can get a discount on the ram at work, but it'd still be around the $85-$100 range.
For a 3-year computer...I dunno....
