After installing the update 10.4.3, my desktop (that's what I see) seems to refresh closing any open folder. I saw something like this when I updated to QuickTime several months ago but now run an older version of QT. QT doesn't appear to be the problem now.

I have a PowerBook G4....

Has anyone else seen this with 10.4.3? How did you correct it?

Hmm... Mine's been normal as ever. Have you got any theme changers? Repaired permissions recently? :)

No theme changes... and yes, I repaired permissions...

Thanks for your reply.

Isn't it Finder crashing, actually? There was another thread around here about that problem. Don't know if it was solved....

Yes, I believe that was the proper name... Finder crashing makes the desk top close files and sort of refreshes the desktop...

Several months ago it was caused by QuickTime... going back to an older version cured the Finder problem. Doesn't cure the problem this time.
