Hi guys,

Just to let you know that instant on is now as it should be on my 2011 13" MBA, much better performance than under 10.7.X.

Boot times also seem to be improved under 10.8, looking a very promising release so far.

This is not a fresh install, was directly upgraded from 10.7.3.

I've tested it with both sleep for a few minutes and then waking up, and also with hibernate mode (left it for a few hours) and both times it has been much more responsive than 10.7.

The trackpad and keyboard are instantly responsive as the machine wakes. 10.8 is looking good!

the laggy keyboard & trackpad on my '11 MBA 13" truly is annoying.
enabled hibernate 3 it takes about 10 seconds, enabled hibernate 0 it's a bit faster.

so... i'm really glad to hear it's about getting better and now i'm looking forward to 10.8 even more.

That's great to hear. I've heard the same from someone running the developer preview. Hopefully some of the fixes get into 10.7.4 so we don't need to wait until "late summer."

Is it very hard to do a fresh install? I always hear about it. And is there really that much of an added benefit to installing a fresh OS? What's better?

A fresh install means that there won't be any permission or compatibility issues as the OS is as it should be with nothing else on the drive. Therefore the OS is at its fastest after a fresh install.

I have noticed a performance increase on my MBA with the upgrade to 10.8 from 10.7.3, and I am very pleased with ML so far :)

Haven't had chance to give it a proper run in yet, but will be using 10.8 as my primary OS on my MBA this week so should be able to give ML a good run in with regards to battery life

Perhaps it is taking longer to go into deep sleep?

Thanks for this post. I'm glad to see they are squashing some MBA-specific bugs in 10.8 :)

Having just the opposite experience. Had instant on in 10.7.3, but under 10.8, get white screen for @ 2 secs. before I see the Finder.
