I've got an M1 2020 Mac mini connected to a Macbook pro 2021 M1 Pro via 10gb ethernet and two OWC 10gb ethernet adapters.

I'm getting 651MB/s write speeds, but 131MB/s read speeds, which is slower than i was expecting because I get close to those read speeds over gigabit ethernet.

Any ideas on what may be slowing down the read speeds?

Thanks! Turned it on, but it didnt make a difference. Do I need it on both computers or just the one that I'm accessing?

Do a network speed test between the two machines using iPerf.

Also do a disk speed test on both machines to see if the issue is the write and write speed of any of the machines.

This will probably give you a clue as you where the problem lies.

Thanks everyone, the jumbo frames seemed to have worked. I'm now regularly accessing files super quickly off the OWC thunderbay 4 on my mac mini from my MBP 14 via two owc 10gb adapters and a QNAP switch with 10GB ports... really cool to finally get this working
