No, that's not true. It's not as much vertical space as the 13", but it's really not bad typing with the 11" MBA. Same with web pages.

I had a 2010 15" i5 MBP with 1650x1080 screen, sold it, and now my 11" MBA is my primary laptop. I had my 15" MBP for around 14 months, and yet it didn't require a massive transitioning period for me to start working in MS Office.

But despite that, the OP would need to get the 13" MBA if he wants to reliably get 6 hours of battery life.

I agree. I have the 2010 11 inch and many web sited are expecting you to have a greater vertical pixel count for photos etc and it is irritating and a problem that I did not have on my old 15" which is the same resolution as the 13.

In Word, you will be typing into a small letterbox window (10-12 lines of text) if you want the font to be readable.

I opened the last word document i worked on and counted 31 lines. Just to show how huge the letters become: Cambria at 16 points and 200% is still 14 lines and utter madness because it is unreadable huge. I wonder what kind of 11" laptop you have from 2010 as it can't be the same screen as my MBA 11"...
There are reason's enough to pick the 13", Zboater has mentioned enough of them and for the OP, the 13" might very well be the best choice, but not for the misleading arguments you made.

Personally, I think that the 11" MBA is absolutely perfect for all your needs, except for battery life. For your needs, you'll need the 13" MBA. :)

It is a brilliant conclusion. 11 is perfect however because of the battery life I will get the 13.

Just my curiosity, how comes you need 6 hours?

Edit: good choice! you won't be disappointed! The 13" MBA is an awesome machine!

Anandtech's review shows the 13" getting only a little more than 30-something minutes over the 11" for light use.

I get about 6 hours with light use when using 3 bars of brightness.

Perhaps for you, I would fill my screen with Word (211%). At 100%, as in your picture, I would have a headache within an hour.

I have been able to do that as well. It amazed me.

Perhaps, just a thought, it is time for you to buy some glasses? On the 13" you won't get much more text at 211%...
I get 13 lines at caliber 16, 211% on the MBA 11"
and I get 16 lines with caliber 16, 211% on the MBA 13".
So that isn't such a big difference to me.
But this size of letters does give me a headache to look at this within a couple of minutes.
