When I attache my iPod to my new MacBook Pro and open iTunes, it does not show up like it used to within the iTunes interface. That makes it impossible to transfer music to and from my iTunes library to the iPod.

I can find my iPod as a device by using Finder, but only to eject it. It does not display the contents of the iPod nor do I understand how I might transfer music via Finder.

Fixes please?

Is iMusic software worth buying?

Got it fixed! Apple support had me turn off all open programs, shut down MacBook then power up in safe mode.

Then while still in safe mode I restarted and once live again I relaunched iTunes, attached iPod to MacBook and this time iTunes showed my iPod as a connected device.
