Thinking of pre-ordering the 13 Pro Max 128gb since that seems more than good enough for my needs but now that the prores stuff is capped at 1080p on the 128gb version I somehow feel like I'm getting a worse deal.

Tbh I don't even think I'll use prores at all, but do you think it'll hurt my resell value if I get the 128gb?

Thoughts on the 128 v 256 gb difference on the 13 pro max?

256gb !!! the new cinematic video will take up more storage if you don’t have a big cloud account..its only 100 dollars difference

I'm in the same boat-- don't want to feel like I'm starting at a disadvantage. In the grand scheme of it, it's only $100 more (or $2.75/mo for 36 mo. if you're doing the AT&T promo).

I think you answered your own question. If you don’t think you’ll ever use ProRes why pay extra for the 256? Seems like a no-brainer to get the 128 if it fits your usage patterns.

As far as resell value goes I’ve found that more storage doesn’t necessarily equate to a huge difference in profits.

Yes, they cut the feature out, but do you foresee you will take a decent chunk of videos in the next year or two? If not, then I doubt prores would become that much of a deal in the long run. For me, I take so few videos prores is not important to me at all. It’s just that I have so much more data I need 256GB and above.

If all you'll do is watch your own videos on your iPhone or YouTube, 1080p is more than enough resolution.
