Hi,
How many degrees is the temperature of the 2021 M1 Pro 16GB CPU Efficiency Core 1 if no process goes? I use macs fan control
I tell you it is between 42-49 ° C when no process is going on.
The previous M1 pro was much cooler.
Check it out, please.
Thanks.

My 16" M1 Max has an idle temp of 29 to 33°C depending on what surface it is sitting on and ambient temperature.
Sometimes however, the WindowServer memory leak hits which also maxes out one random CPU core. This will cause the idle temp to rise up to between 50 to 60°C until I reboot or kill the WindowServer process.

Yeah, without WindowServer, mine is typically between 30° to 40°C.

Even when I push the machine by running Fusion 360 and Cura concurrently at all times, it doesn't exceed 45°. Obviously, ambient temp plays into it as well. My room is around 21°C right now.

Even while doing light work on this machine (M1 Max 16") the fans don't kick in. If I'm compiling stuff in Xcode it will, but only for larger projects.

Seeing 45C average with YouTube playing while browsing. Idle is around 33-35C.

A huge change from my 2018 Mini which idled at 50-60C and 90-100C while compiling.

40 degrees with fans off. The laptop is sitting on a blanket which is on my lap. There are some background process running though. All of the laptop surfaces are cool to the touch.

M1 mini normally runs 23-30 degrees but the fan is always on. It was actually a bit of a shock seeing that the fans on the MacBook Pro aren't spinning at all. I've never seen that on a Mac before. On all of my other Macs, they spin at the minimum fan speed.

Yes it is strange at first not to have the fans on. But then again, one of the standard problems with most laptops is dust slowly clogging everything as well as fan bearings wearing out. Both these problems should be greatly reduced on the M1 MBPs.

I'm very happy with my silent 16" MBP, but it really wasn't an issue in my 2014 MBP. To clean I simply removed the bottom cover and blew the dust out of the fan. Even replacing its fan was cheap and easy when it failed later.

Due to the larger Heatsink of the Max, for low loads, will it run at lower temperatures than the Pro who has a smaller Heatsink?

The fans not spinning is like adding insult to injury. The 2021 MacBook Pros already get great battery life from efficient processors. Then they get even greater battery life by not having to run the fans.

I have the same temperatures, this one gets hot quite easy too. Very disappointed with the newest m1's. The original m1 is way better, I get at least double battery life and never hot keys.
